Catering

The Station Cafe at Wirksworth Station will be open for refreshments and lunches.

The Apollo Bar will be open too with a service of real ale, lagers, ciders, wines and spirits.

Friday- Diesel Day
  • One for the diesel enthusiasts - plenty of mileage on offer from a variety of diesel locos
Saturday - Anything Goes!
  • A mixture of steam and diesel traction
  • Rides up the 1 in 27 Ravenstor incline
  • Try it for a tenner! - have a go at driving diesel shunting engine 'Tom' up and down the platform at Wirksworth
  • Vintage bus tours of the local countryside (separate charge applies)
  • Evening special curry train with a selection of real ales
Sunday - Branchline Heritage Day
  • Steam trains and DMU in operation
  • Driver experiences with the 08 shunter D3236 on the Ravenstor incline (can be booked in advance or purchased on the day subject to availability)
  • Passenger goods train with the chance to ride in the GWR Toad brake van on the full stretch of line
  • Yard tours by donation

Sunday 20th - Class 08 Driver Experience - Take charge of the iconic class 08 diesel shunter on the gruelling 1 in 27 Ravenstor incline with guests able to travel in the brake van.

*Subject to locomotive availability.

The Sunset Sulzer

On Saturday 19th July you can book a place on the 'Sunset Sulzer' where you will have a choice of freshly-prepared curries to choose from and a range of drinks available to buy from the onboard bar.
