In this section we have information about everything that’s on offer here at Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, with links to the web pages where more details are available.
The Derbyshire Countryman & Apollo Bar

For those who believe the best views are paired with fine flavours, our dining calendar is the main event.
From Luxury Afternoon Teas to a proper Sunday Roast, with all the trimming, enjoy fine dining in a heritage carriage as you journey along the Ecclesbourne Valley.
Shop & Museum

We probably have the largest selection of second-hand transport books in the East Midlands, plus new transport books and guides, second-hand fiction and non-fiction.
Adjacent to the shop is our museum, which has on display a variety of fascinating railway memorabilia and historic artefacts.
Ravenstor Shuttle

Ravenstor Station, the most northerly point of the line, is half a mile away from Wirksworth Station at the top of a 1-in-27 incline.
At the station it looks like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but you are just a few minutes away from many attractions including the High Peak Trail and National Stone Centre.
Local Walks

The Ecclesbourne Way is an 11-mile walking route that follows the course of the River Ecclesbourne.
The walk can either start in Duffield or Wirksworth and on the days that our train services are operating you can enjoy the return leg in a heritage carriage.
Model & Miniature Railways

Our 7 1/4-inch gauge miniature railway currently runs for a third of a mile at the end of Platform 1, running adjacent to the main track, it is powered by steam and battery locomotives that haul sit-on carriages.
The extensive model railway layout is located within one of our carriages adjacent to the main car park.
Duffield Shopper

The Duffield Shopper Specials run on the first Saturday of each month, on the same day as the Wirksworth Farmers Market.
The Diesel Multiple Unit leaves Duffield at 8.20am, allowing ample time to explore this well-established and popular event, with artisans selling a wide range of products.
Seasonal & Special Events

From romantic Valentine’s Day evenings to our popular Santa Specials, every year we organise a wide range of events for all age groups.
Details of our event, including historic weekends, gastronomic experiences, murder mysteries and volunteer days are included in the Calendar and on our What’s On page.
Driver Experiences

We have three unique driving experiences available: Diesel Locomotive Experience, Steam Locomotive Experience and our new 08 Shunter Driving Experience.
All driving experiences include real hands-on opportunities and provide an exciting insight in to the world of heritage railways.
