Here is more detailed information about how to get to the stations operated by Ecclesbourne Valley Railway

If travelling by car we highly recommend starting your journey here, where we have a large customer car park. 

By rail: Duffield Station (see below) includes details of the connections with mainline services.

By bus: Wirksworth is served by two bus routes:

  1. Trentbarton Route 6.1: This regular service runs between Derby, Matlock and Bakewell, providing direct access to Duffield (Town Street/Co-op), Idridgehay (Wirksworth Road/Church) & Wirksworth Market Place.
  2. Stagecoach X17: operating between Barnsley and Wirksworth, via Sheffield, Chesterfield and Matlock.

Duffield Station

If travelling by car there is a RingGo pay and display car park at the station, operated by East Midlands Railway (EMR), and there’s also a small car park accessible from Chapel Street.

By Train: At Duffield’s mainline station you can connect to the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway; check our timetable for services from Duffield to Wirksworth.

Duffield is served by frequent EMR trains operating on the Derwent Valley Line, with connections to Nottingham, Derby and Matlock.

Idridgehay Station

There is no dedicated parking at Idridgehay Station, please park at Duffield or Wirksworth

Idridgehay is served by the Trentbarton’s Sixes service; the 6.1 service stops near to the church.
