Returning for 2026, Santa’s Enchanted Journey, Ecclesbourne Valley Railway’s Santa special, is the perfect way for all the family to get into the Christmas spirit. Services will be running from the end of November until 24 December.
For the 2026 season we have lined-up a wide range of new activities and experiences, that will delight every child.
For 2026 we also have two options for tickets: choose from our standard or premium service:
Standard Experience | Buy Tickets
You will be seated in a standard open coach and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies for all.
There will be a luxury present from father Christmas and time to interact with him, whilst Christmas music will be playing.
Premium Experience | Buy Tickets
You will be seated in a private compartment, where everyone will enjoy cookies and hot chocolate.
Along with a luxury gift from Father Christmas your children will have their photo taken with him and enjoy extra time interacting with him.
New events and activities for 2026
At Wirksworth Station
- Christmas sing-a-longs on the platform led by the elves
- Reindeer food will be available to buy
- There will be a wishing tree on the platform
- Write and post a letter to Santa with help from the elves
On Board
- This year there will be a baby reindeer carried by one of the elves for all to interact with
- There will be story times on the train with the elves reading a selection of Christmas stories
- Elves will be singing and will get everyone on the train involved
- There will also be games led by the elves
- A magic elf will be looking after Christmas wishes
- We will have a toy elf making colouring books come to life
- Our reindeer elf will be looking after Rudolph’s nose
- Father Christmas and his elves will deliver presents and spend time with everyone
- Mrs Clause will be on board interacting with customers and children
