New for Summer 2026 – A Nostalgic Day Out by Rail & Road
£29.95 per person | Departs Wirksworth at 10.15am | Only 30 Tickets
Step back in time and enjoy a wonderfully nostalgic day out with the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, in association with Vallances Coaches.
Begin your experience at Wirksworth Station with a return heritage train journey through the beautiful Ecclesbourne Valley to Duffield. After returning to Wirksworth, there’s time to relax at the station before setting off once again – this time by road.
At 1.00pm, climb aboard a vintage bus for a scenic tour through the local Derbyshire countryside, combining two classic forms of transport in one memorable day.
This special Heritage Day brings together the charm of traditional railway travel with the character of a vintage bus journey through the Derbyshire countryside.
After your bus tour, take time to explore more of the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway at Wirksworth. Visit the Railway’s museum and discover displays of regional railway artefacts and memorabilia, or browse the book shop for railway publications, transport books, maps and other items.
With heritage rail, vintage road transport and plenty of time to soak up the atmosphere of Wirksworth Station, it’s a distinctive day out for railway enthusiasts, transport lovers, photographers, local historians and anyone with a fascination for a bygone era.
