Summer Holiday Activities at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway
There’s fun and adventure all summer at the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, which will keep your little explorers and older adventurers entertained.
This summer, until Thursday 3 September, we will be running steam* and diesel locomotives as you journey through the beautiful Ecclesbourne Valley.
For younger children (5-8-year-olds) they need to stay alert for the I Spy Challenge and keep a look-out for various items that will displayed at each station, between Wirksworth and Duffield.
For older children, we have the Summer Trail Quiz. Around Wirksworth Station there will be various posters with a series of questions.
To find the answers you simply scan a QR code, which takes you to a web page where the answers can be found.
Every Thursday we will also be running our popular Tea & Cake Special, which costs £20 per adult, which includes a slice of cake and a hot drink, and a return journey between Wirksworth and Duffield. For every fare-paying adult two under-15-year-olds travel for free.
*Please note: Our steam services over the summer depend on weather conditions; if the track-side foliage is very dry we will substitute steam for diesel locomotives
