Our model and miniature railways are suitable for all age groups
Our extensive model railway layout is located in one of our carriages, a short walk along from Platform 1.
The Wirksworth Miniature Railway is a 7 1/4-inch gauge railway that runs from the end of
Platform 1 at Wirksworth Station.
The line runs alongside the main railway and is gradually being extended, with the aim of reaching The Hannages foot crossing, around a third of a mile away. This sit-on railway uses a variety of steam and battery-operated locomotives and can be enjoyed by all the family.
The Miniature Railway is normally open on Saturdays throughout the season as well as at other selected
special events, from 11am to 3pm.
