In fact\, you are just a few minutes away from many of the tourist attractions associated with the Peak District. \nAround the Station \nThere are many places to visit around Ravenstor Station and indeed one could spend a whole day visiting all of them! \nIf you are planning a day in the Peak District why not travel from Duffield to Wirksworth by train and hop onto our Ravenstor shuttle. DESCRIPTION:From Friday 10 July to Sunday 12 July\, come and have a go at driving a steam or diesel locomotive. \nThese immersive driver experiences let you take the controls as you travel between Wirksworth and Duffield. \nThe following experiences are now on sale: \nBronze Diesel Driving Experience | £295 per person (includes one free guest) \nOur most popular diesel driving experience. Take the controls as part of a small group and spend the whole day learning to drive along the valley. \nYou will take the controls of one of our heritage railcars under the guidance of one of our skilled instructors and take it in turns to drive to Duffield and back. \nTake in the local atmosphere with a freshly prepared lunch in the Station Cafe and then enjoy a tour of Wirksworth site and our facilities. \nIn the afternoon you will feel the power of one of our main line diesel locomotives. Participants may travel on the heritage railcar in the morning and join you for lunch\, however they will not be able to ride on the mainline diesel locomotive in the afternoon. \nFeatures: \n\nOpportunities to drive either diesel railcar then large main line diesel\nLunch included for participant and one guest\nTimings 9:30 until 16:00\nWhere possible guests may be able to ride on the train\n\nRequirements: \nParticipants must be aged 18 or over and must be physically able to climb into the train from ground level at all ages. \n
