DESCRIPTION:We’re really looking forward to our Summer Diesel Gala\, which will take place over the weekend of 7\, 8 and 9 August.
 \nGates will be open from 8.00am\, as will our station café\, serving a range of breakfast sandwiches\, tea and coffee to fuel up your day. \nConfirmed Locomotives \n\nClass 08\, D3236\nClass 33\, 33103\nClass 47\, D1842\nClass 73\, 73001\nBubble Car\, W55006 plus Derby Lightweight\, M79612\n\nWe’re delighted to confirm that we will be welcoming Class 20\, number 20166\, for our Summer Diesel Gala. \nOriginally built as D8166 in 1966 by the Vulcan Foundry\, in Newton-le-Willows\, it spent much of its life operating locally to our railway as it was allocated to the Nottingham Division\, which included Derby. \nRenumbered to 20166 in 1974\, and following it’s career with British Rail\, it was used for the construction of the Channel Tunnel. Later\, it became part of the Harry Needle Railroad Company fleet\, and still carries a distinctive de-branded orange livery. \nBUY TICKETS | MORE DETAILS

DESCRIPTION:After an immersive day at the Summer Diesel Gala\, sit back and relax as you enjoy two return journeys on the Ecclesbourne Vally Railway’s Jolly Fisherman Train\, hauled by our visiting class 20 (20166). \nAt Duffield you can choose either fish and chips or sausage and chips\, which you can enjoy as you travel back to Wirksworth. \nThere will be a fully licensed bar on board with a selection of real ales\, ciders and lagers\, and there will also be our limited edition blonde ale that we have had produced specially for the gala weekend. \nCalled Chopper Hopper\, it’s a lightly hopped blonde ale (4.5% ABV) and one that we’re sure you will enjoy. \nThe cost is just £19.95 per person or stay all day and upgrade your Day Rover ticket for £14.95. \nDeparture for this unique experience is 6pm from Wirksworth on Saturday 8 August. \nBUY YOUR TICKETS HERE
