SUMMARY:1940s Weekend
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us over the weekend of 13-14 June 2026 for the third year of our 1940s event set in our beautiful town of Wirksworth in Derbyshire. \nTIMETABLES \n  \nAN IMMERSIVE 1940s WEEKEND \nWe will have live music\, trade stalls\, re-enactors and steam train rides to take you back to the 1940s. \nLiving History Groups \n* The Wartime District Nurse\n* Trent Valley Military Vehicle Trust\n* Derbyshire Military Vehicle Trust\n* South Staffordshire Living History Group\n* Fire by Order\n* Feldjagerkorps 44\n* BBC at War\n* Deutsche Heimat\n* RC Armour \n‘The Yorkshire Land Girl’ will also be portraying a range of characters on the train with storytelling and there will be a selection of WW2 era vehicles including a Diamond T tank transporter and Leyland Hippo lorry\, as used on D-Day. 1940s period civilian vehicles will also be on display. \nOn Sunday 14 June we have lined up an Afternoon Tea with a live performance from the renowned singer\, Johnny Victory.\n \nFollow this link for more details.  \nWe’re also delighted to be welcoming the following talented artists performing over the weekend: \n\nJayne Darling – Vintage Singer\nThe Lahdidahs – 1940s & Vintage Close Harmony Trio\nKyle Evans – George Formby tribute act\n\n> > > KEEP CALM & BUY TICKETS < < < \n\nPLEASE NOTE\nParking: Due to the 1940s event there will be no parking at Wirksworth Station\nAlternative free parking at TDP\, Derby Road\, Wirksworth\, DE4 4BG \nWe will be running a free shuttle service between Wirksworth Station and the parking areas\, which will feature vintage buses from the 1940s era
