Service Information - Public Statement

In response to the Government’s recommendations with regard to COVID-19, the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway has taken the decision to suspend services until at least the end of June.

Like all other organisations in the heritage railway sector, we will continue to review conditions on a daily basis and, as the situation develops.

We are contacting all customers who have advance bookings and look forward to the resumption of services.

Derbyshire Countryman Dining

in July

A decision is pending (awaiting government advice) on services in July. Customers with bookings in July are being offered the chance to move to a date later in the year or exchange their booking for an e-voucher. Please note the visit of steam locomotive 46521 is not able to go ahead and therefore any dining that does happen will be diesel hauled this season.

Groupon Vouchers

Groupon have announced that they are extending the validity period for all of their customers by up to 12 months from the original expiration date. The railway will honour these vouchers under the original terms (not to be used on Derbyshire Countryman dining services, Santa Experience trains or evening specials) as long as the Groupon system accepts them for.

However, the railway would like to encourage customers to e-mail us their voucher details and we will exchange it for an e-ticket to assist the railway during this difficult trading period.

Customers wishing to take assist should e-mail us with the following information:

  • Your name
  • The e-mail address you wish for your replacement e-ticket to be sent to
  • The Security Code from the voucher

We will then redeem your voucher and send our replacement tickets which can be used for one day of travel on the railway up until the expiry date shown on them.
