Restoration of Class 119 Driving Motor Brake Composite W51073

Guards van
Lick of Paint

Progress reported on 11/06/13.

A paint theme was most certainly in the air this week. Not only was the bodyside paintwork completed except for the varnish, but also the guards van received plenty too. On Friday, the ceiling was glossed. Luckily this only needs one coat as it is pre-faced white anyway. On Saturday, the walls were rubbed down and a second coat of Honeysuckle was applied. Sunday came and saw some finer detail being painted, including remaining parts of the cage and the electrical conduit which provides the cabling to the guards equipment.

Left: A general view showing the glossed ceiling, walls and conduit. The stained trim for the bulkhead corner has been returned.
