Guests meet before boarding their private train down the valley
If you have a special occasion coming up, chartering your own train can be the perfect way to celebrate. Spend some time taking in the views of the Ecclesbourne Valley and enjoy some catering in our Pullman Buffet Car.
A ride along the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway is the perfect activity to include in your coach tour too! We can accommodate up to 250 travelling passengers on one train and have plenty of room for coaches at Wirksworth Station.
Your visit could include:
- A journey along the Ecclesbourne Valley beginning at either Wirksworth or Duffield
- One of our catering options in our Pullman Buffet Car at Wirksworth, before or after your journey
The table is set ready for the arrival of a group
You have several options for seeing the beautiful views through the superb large windows of our heritage Diesel railcars.
The Fare
- Travel from Wirksworth to Duffield and return: £10.00 each
- Travel from Duffield to Wirksworth and return: £15.00 each
For Ravenstor: Add £2.00 per person to above
Minimum Number of Passengers: 10
Please call us to discuss fares for travelling between intermediate stations (e.g. Wirksworth and Ravenstor only)
A group discount per person is available if your party is booked onto a timetabled passenger service.

A booking without catering requires a £35.00 deposit, a booking with catering requires a £100.00 deposit, both of which are deducted from the total fare on the day.
