Ravenstor
(for the National Stone Centre and High Peak) Nestled a half-mile away from Wirksworth Station, up a steep 1 in 30 incline, Ravenstor is ideal for walkers and visitors to the National Stone Centre. The EVR station at Ravenstor (for the High Peak) opened on the 1st of September 2005. Access to Ravenstor Station from the nearest car park (at the National Stone Centre on Porter Lane, at Wirksworth) is as follows: From the car park walk under the bridge into the Stone Centre grounds and to the left of the main building (where there is a café and toilets), and then down the hill. Turn to your right where you will find an obelisk. At the obelisk take the left hand path and follow the path down the hill, through the grounds, until you can see an old bridge in front of you. The path to the station goes down the hill to your left and is marked by signs and two interpretation panels. Please note that the access path to the station is quite steep and is not suitable for disabled access because of the very hilly surroundings of this station. Should you require further information please phone us at Wirksworth station on 01629 823076. There are normally no staff at Ravenstor Station.
