May Bank Holiday Open Days
Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd, Sunday 4th and Monday 5th May 2008
A special weekend where both the Ravenstor and Idridgehay lines will
be in operation as well as an unusual range of other activities.
Friday 2nd May 2008

The Ravenstor and Idridgehay lines will be in
operation. It is planned that Class 03 084 and Trailer will operate
between Wirksworth and Ravenstor, whilst Derby Lightweight Unit
79900 "Iris" operates between Wirksworth and Idridgehay. Open 10am until 5pm.

The buffet car will be open for tea, coffee and
light refreshments.

The new children's play area will open to the
public for the first time.

There will be a fair, Punch and Judy and a bouncy
castle.
Saturday 3rd May 2008

The Ravenstor and Idridgehay lines will be in
operation. It is planned that Class 03 084 and Trailer will operate
between Wirksworth and Ravenstor, whilst Derby Lightweight 79900
"Iris" operates between Wirksworth and Idridgehay. Open 10am until 5pm.

There will be a Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU)
operating as a demonstration around the station. It is currently
planned for this to be Class 117 W51360 and Class 108 M56224 hybrid
unit.

The buffet car will be open for tea, coffee and
light refreshments.

There will be a fair, Punch and Judy and a bouncy
castle.

Sunday 4th May 2008

The Ravenstor and Idridgehay lines will be in operation. It is planned
that Class 03 084 and Trailer will operate between Wirksworth and
Ravenstor, whilst Class 101's M51188 and E51505 operate between
Wirksworth and Idridgehay. Open 10am until
5pm.
- There will be a pre-bookable guided walk at 13:00 from
Wirksworth Station. The walk will be approximately 3 hours long,
starting with a train journey to Ravenstor and then moving on to
Middleton Top. Walking boots will be required. If you would like to
join this walk, advanced booking is essential. To book please call
the station on 01629 823076. The walk is £2.50.
- The buffet car will be open for tea, coffee and light refreshments
- There will be a fair, Punch and Judy and a bouncy castle.
Monday 5th May 2008
- The Ravenstor and Idridgehay lines will be in operation. It is
planned that Class 03 084 and Trailer operate between Wirksworth and
Ravenstor, whilst Class 101's M51188 and E51505 operate between
Wirksworth and Idridgehay. Open
10am until 5pm.
- There will be a pre-bookable guided walk at 13:00 starting at
Wirksworth Station. The walk will pass down the picturesque
Ecclesbourne Valley and terminate at Idridgehay Station. The party
will return to Wirksworth by train. Walking boots will be required.
If you would like to join this walk, advanced booking is essential.
