In 2013 EVRA acquired three coaches from the DPR Carriage Group: CK 15849, SK 24918 and SO 3727 - all in need of restoration. A dedicated team of volunteers have been working on all of the coaches since then.

The CK needed the least work immediately. The exterior was painted in 2013 and it entered service in May 2013. During the winter of 2014, the seats in the third class were re-upholstered and in early 2016 the first class seats were also re-upholstered and new curtains made. There is an unusual feature in one of the third class compartments - a window which is designed to take a stretcher.

The SK was then next to enter service in May 2015 after the exterior was painted. Although there is still work to do on the corridors, the woodwork in the compartments was refurbished and the seats re-upholstered.

Following completion of the work on SO 3727 it entered service on 7th May 2016 for an EVRA steam-hauled event: a very successful Jazz and Real Ale evening followed by a Cheese and Wine Evening in July 2016.

Brake Standard Corridor (BSK) 35006

In July 2016 EVRA acquired BSK 35006 from the Mid-Norfolk Railway which needs the same level of restoration as the other coaches but, in addition, this coach will require installation of vacuum braking and steam heating.

Work has started and it is hoped that it will be fully restored for our anniversary celebrations in 2017. This coach will then be added to our rake of EVRA coaches.
